Promo Général et M. MOLISHUTC HAS BEEN GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO HOST AND TO TRAIN PILOTS FROM THE CAMEROON’S ARMED FORCES
Earlier in March 2017, several pilots ofthe Cameroonese Army have just received their pilot licenses in HUTC. This remarks the end of the second training session for these pilots.
The Cameroonese Pilots arrived at Héli-Union Training Center on the 1st of May 2015. The extensive number of training that they had to undertake are the Theoretical ATPL (H) Course with the main objective is to train helicopter pilots in order to attain the theoretical knowledge necessary to undertake its professional activity in helicopter industry, CPL/IR (Commercial Pilot License/Instrument Rating) Courses with MCC (Multi Crew Coordination), Multi-pilot Qualification, Helicopter Type Bell 206 Qualification, Helicopter Type AS365N3 Qualification, Mountain Flying and Over-the-Sea Flying courses.
Héli-Union Training Center is also proud to announce that one of the successful trained-pilot, Ms. Sorel Stephanie GUEMKAM FOPOSSI is the first ever woman pilot within the Cameroon’s Air Force and more also, the first ever woman pilot who takes Ab-Initio training at Héli-Union Training Center.

Héli-Union Training Center or HUTC is a helicopter training center approved by EASA. Located in the Brie Champniers airport in Charente, HUTC offers a wide range of training courses, from basic to professional helicopter pilot license. The courses are adapted to the needs and profile of each student. Each year, the school receives more than 500 students and pilots with diverse backgrounds. helicopter myanmarOn Friday, 24 February 2017, Héli-Union successfully started helicopter operations in the south of Myanmar for one of its clients. Its customer, Woodside, is an international oil and gas company to whom Héli-Union provided its services last year for a drilling campaign in the same blocks. This is not the first time that the two companies are working together for an offshore operation.

The contract entails provision of passenger transportation and MEDEVAC/SAR services for blocks A-6 and AD-7. Héli-Union is operating 3 AW139s for this particular mission. Two of these helicopters are of 7 Tonnes configuration with the latest avionics package are dedicated to support Woodside’s crew change operations. One of these helicopters has been particularly retrofitted recently in Leonardo Malaysia, in order to meet the flying distance requirement of this mission.

This mission necessitates Héli-Union to operate simultaneously from several bases and requires the company to be flexible. Héli-Union’s project management team always worked conscientiously to emerge with the most cost-effective solutions for its clients.

Jonathan Cosson, Héli-Union’s Deputy Managing Director commented that, “We are delighted that Woodside has decided to work with us again and we look forward to providing a high level of service. The project team, including pilots and engineers have been working very intensively to provide a safe and efficient service above all.”

Héli-Union is creating more than 30 new jobs by opening its doors in Pau, France. This new branch will become another branch of Héli-Union Industry providing heavy maintenance of helicopters. Héli-Union Pau is expected to be operational in May 2017.

Héli-Union Pau will host one of Héli-Union’s main portfolios of industry-related service, which is regular inspection of Helicopter type Cougar and Super Puma Families (AS332/AS532) dedicated to the French Military.

The maintenance hangar will reach the surface area of 2500m² with a maximum capacity of receiving 4 helicopters at once.

In Toussus-le-Noble, Héli-Union has seen an increasing flow of helicopter inspection demand. The company is projecting a higher number of demand starting from 2017. By establishing a new branch, Héli-Union will be able to answer to its clients’ needs more effectively.

Pau Airport has been chosen as the new destination due to its strategic location. Héli-Union’s new hangar in Pau Airport will be located within a walking distance from the bases of its main client, the French Army. This allows Héli-Union Industry to have a closer approach to its main clients and to retaliate in a timely manner.

Along with the new branch comes new competent staffs to manage the business. Laurent Marie has been nominated as the Base Manager of Héli-Union Pau. Laurent Marie has been working in Héli-Union for 27 years and is currently holding the position of Launching Service Manager.

BG SHellHéli-Union has just ended its contract to support BG Group’s offshore drilling operations for two natural gas wells in blocks 1 and 4 in Southern Tanzania. The operation lasted for 3 months from November 2016 until January 2017. Héli-Union supported the operation with its AW139 helicopter for passenger transport and another AW139 for MEDEVAC services.

This operation marks Héli-Union’s first mission in Tanzania and first collaboration with BG Group.

Mr. Patrick Molis, the CEO of Héli-Union commented, “We are very pleased that BG Group chose Héli-Union to provide helicopter transport support for their drilling operations in Tanzania. Héli-Union is very determined to give only the safest and the best service for our clients. This activity has marked the expansion of Héli-Union’s footprint in Africa and we intend to spread our wings even further. We do not cease to improve and we hope that Héli-Union will be able to provide BG Group with more of our service in the future.”

For its safe and efficient service, BG Group has awarded Héli-Union with recognition medals at the end of the successful mission.

photo-for-news-1Héli-Union and Safran sign a partnership contract for helicopter equipment distribution within the African market dedicated to Safran engines, parts and tools.

The contract covers from classic engines up to MAKILA model. The distribution area focuses mainly on African countries such as Burkina-Faso, Gabon, Cameroon, Nigeria, Angola, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Congo, Togo and Senegal. The aim of this partnership is to develop the Safran’s distribution network and ensure a performant distribution service level.

Being present in the African market for almost 50 years, Héli-Union is a compatible choice for Safran to expand its global reach.

Today, Héli-Union also serves international oil and gas companies for offshore personnel transportation through its bases in Congo, Gabon, Cameroon, Nigeria, Angola and Tanzania. The combination of Héli-Union’s strong presence together with Safran’s expertise of the manufacture of equipment and subsystem for helicopter engines, allows both French companies to consolidate their value-added positions in Africa and to strengthen their relationship.

Héli-Union has been operating a large fleet of Safran-powered rotorcraft, including AS 332, H225 and S76C series, which are used in offshore transportation missions. The two companies have been collaborating for more than 50 years and has built trusts on each other over these years. Héli-Union is looking forward to the successful growth of their mutual activities in this new market.

hmsa-hangar2 hmsa-hangarHelicopteros Marinos SA, or better known as HMSA, a subsidiary of Heli-Union in South America, has obtained the approval from Turbomeca (Safran Helicopter Engines) to perform level III maintenance for Arriel engine family in December 2016.

HMSA has sent two of their technicians to receive theoretical formation in Safran Canada and the auditing of practical maintenance will take place this month in HMSA’s homebase.

With this approval, HMSA will be able to perform additional maintenance activities such as Arriel TU360 application. HMSA is proud to extend their client reach and enhance their services for customers operating in South America. The company has operational bases in Argentina and in Uruguay.

 

About HMSA

In Tierra de Fuego, Argentina, HMSA has been working from two bases, Río Cullen and Río Grande, where they support offshore production activities of an international oil and gas company. In Uruguay, HMSA operates as HMU SA in off-shore activities with Dauphin SA365.

HMSA’s main base is located in Buenos Aires, where they have an Airbus certified maintenance center and Safran Helicopter Engines-approved Service Center. In this workshop, HMSA is able to maintain helicopters such as BK117C1/C2, Dauphin AS365, H120, H130, H125, A109 C and B407.

Héli-Union received an Appreciation Certificate to acknowledge its safe and efficient services from its client. The certificate was presented by Woodside’s Company Representative to Héli-Union in February 2016, with a presence of an Airbus helicopter delegate.

The campaign remarks Myanmar’s first offshore operation utilising H225 (formally known as the EC225). The aircraft, operated by Héli-Union, was used for a long range crew change operation that lasted for 3 months. The main mission of the contract was for personnel transportation from Yangoon Myanmar facility to Woodside’s AD7 and A6 blocks, with the furthest distance travelled up to 300Nm per trip.

Héli-Union also provided the first ever LIMSAR service in Myanmar throughout the exploration campaign with its AW139 helicopter, equipped with a capable external rescue hoist.  Just last year, Héli-Union announced its partnership with Priority 1 in launching commercially based offshore helicopter Search and Rescue (SAR) services for oil and gas companies. The service focuses on critical emergency response and support high demanding operations. This enables Héli-Union to offer an improved and comprehensive service to its clients worldwide.

Heli-Union’s history in Myanmar dates back to the 1989 when Héli-Union first entered the developing market for a seismic operation with a PUMA helicopter. Héli-Union continued its activities in the country until 1992 with another helicopter, Alouette. In 2008, Héli-Union decided to return and strengthened its presence in South East Asia by establishing a dedicated office in Yangoon, Myanmar.

Today, Héli-Union continues to maintain a strong business presence in Myanmar. The company deploys several aircrafts in the country from AW139, H225 to S76 C++. Years of experience has given Héli-Union the ability to operate from any bases in Myanmar, as requested by the clients.

HeliUnion-SAR-Priority1

Heli-Union, a worldwide leader in rotary aircraft service industry, launched a commercially based offshore helicopter search-and-rescue (SAR) program in France.

Together with Priority Air 1 rescue, the program that was focusing on emergency response and support devoted for the offshore oil and gas industry commenced in November 2015. Heli-Union selected P1AR for initial to advanced mission training; full program implementation and CAA Human Hoist Operations (HHO) certification support, SAR Ops manuals, and also includes operational aircrew rescue swimmer staffing.

Héli-Union decided to put its newly acquired AW139 on support of this mission. Heli-Union’s mission training commenced at Priority 1 Air Rescue Search and Rescue Tactical Training Academy (SART/TAC) located in Nîmes France, where the student participants attended ground school, hoist tower training, and virtual search-and-rescue flight simulation. P1AR instructors then travelled from SART/TAC to La Rochelle, France to complete the onsite inland, ocean, and advanced maritime vessel pilot live flight training.

This newly formed helicopter SAR program are also applied in one of Héli-Union bases, Yangon, Myanmar.

Capture d’écran 2016-08-29 à 08.22.12The new headquarter of Héli-Union was inaugurated in Toussus-le-Noble on Friday, June 24. The inauguration was commemorated at the same day as Saint-Jean’s day, the annual tradition of Héli-Union that was initially intended to celebrate Mr. Jean-Claude Roussel, the founder of Héli-Union. Today, Saint-Jean’s day is celebrated to welcome summer and to reunite close to 200 workers, clients, as well as other important partners together.

Héli-Union maintenance and service activities have been active in Toussus-le-Noble since 1986. Its presence in Toussus-le-Noble was reinforced as Héli-Union Industry was officially established in 1994.

The new premises provide the team with a modern and ergonomic working environment, featuring spaces for interaction, with some areas designated for collaborative working. As mentioned by Mr. Patrick Molis, the CEO and Chairman of Héli-Union, bringing together all the Paris-based team and Héli-Union Industry team, a total of nearly 200 people who were previously separated, will enable the company to develop further synergies among the different divisions.

The inauguration was made official as the Mr. Patrick Molis and Mr. Patrick Charles, the Mayor of Toussus-le-Noble cut the ribbon of the new office building.

Héli-Union was founded in 1961 by Jean-Claude Roussel, whose passion towards helicopters had led him to create a company that serves the helicopter transport industry. After 55 years of service in the helicopter industry, Héli-Union has lived up to its reputation due to its long-standing experience in the industry, unbridled dedication to customer satisfaction, and a highly reliable team. Today, the company owns more than 35 helicopters with a current global presence in 10 countries.
